Those of you who are using the AEM I have few questions...

1.- Is the AEM computer for the TT same for the NA? or different models?

2.- Can the AEM work with the NA Distributor? Can the AEM still be used with the without changing the distributor?

3.- Do we need the resistor on the stock MAF clip (the one used with the VPC) for the AEM?

I had my 1101 (n/a version) box open a while back. The small PCB that holds the connector says "Supra copyright 2001". I'll have to go over the pinouts for the two models, but I think they're the same. I don't know what the difference between them is.

Oliver, the AEM is a cool unit, but it's not something you just plug in and go to the road course with. It's not going to run like a stock ECU until you take it to a professional to tune it. Not trying to discourage you. Infact, I've really enjoyed learning about EFI and working with the AEM, but it's been a lot of work and I've still got a long way to go. You can easily do the installation but plan about $600 to get it tuned. Find someone who tunes with a DynoDynamics or Dynapack since those will allow tuning steady state and not just WOT. A shop that invests in one of those will generally be a good choice.

As Chuck said :) , you won't need any resisters and such with a stand alone ecu because you're not fooling it like you are with the stock ecu. You select what sensors you have in the software and the ecu works with that sensor....no piggybacks to intercept and modify and spit back out to the ecu! :)

I've been running the AEM with my stock GE-T engine for four months now. Only exception is a GM 3BAR maps sensor and a GM air temp sensor.... that's all you need to ditch the maf! If you need any help post up and I'll offer any assistance I can.

Thanks for the info. I've seeing AEM for sale, I wanted to make sure that I got the right one. It sucks that they are not the same model :(

What sensors do I need with the AEM?
I'm going to sell my VPC and get the AEM. I wanted to keep my VPC it works great but I want to run bigger injectors and I only have a 550cc chip :(

ANy of you know anybody trying to sell an AEM?

I had the 240Sx with a 2jz na-t. I was running the TT aem unit on it. A little bit to install. had to move some pinouts around, which is all explained in the manual with the aem software. On my NA supra i will be running the TT version as well, when I go NA-T with that. The only real things that were needed as everyone here has stated are the GM MAP and GM IAT. AEM sells their version as well if you dont want to go with GM ones.
