No offense to you or your buddy, but giving that kind of money or any kind of money in advance to any shop, body or performance, is just asking for trouble. They already got paid and now they're just going to drag their feet and/or worse...

It sucks that people are shady like that. It makes it allot harder for honest business owners and workers with so many bad experiences like this. I hope your friend gets his money and car back.

some shops do ask you to pay up front, sometimes full, sometimes half. but you don't have to deal with that shop if you don't like to do it that way.

NO surprise, I used to work there. So much crooked crap I had to take off. I hate crooked shops. I alread put out a warning about Enduro awhile ago. Then I opened my own shop and all his customers are coming to me now, lol.
He got his though. He was arrested for larceny and is shut down now. Karma comes around. Did you get your money back? I hear you say he sold stuff off your car? You should come by my shop some time in Santa Rosa if you dont mine. You've been PMed

Edit: just read your whole first post. Is this the White Evo that went in for the tranny?! That thing is still there?! I took the tranny out and found nothing wrong with the clutch, but something didnt look right with the tranny gears. Not being a gear specialist I recommended we have a tranny specialist look at it and he took it to his money ass backwater former mechanic who said it needed a tranny (although I kind of doubt it now). I asked him several times what the deal with the tranny was because work was slow and I needed sometime to do LIKE PUT A TRANNY BACK IN A EVO! But he kept sayin the tranny was being "built" and other BS excuses. Long story short, I left him there to rot and the EVO was still there. Damn so they never finished it?

There was no HKS clutch in that car, it was a twin disk Exedy. Last thing I knew of the car it was still on jackstands missing a tranny when I left... 6 months after I had removed the tranny in the first place!

WEll apparently you just told me it was black and got painted white and the one I'm talking about was factory white. Sure it wasnt the other way around? White to black?
Anyways the white one I did I installed a turbo timer in and took the tranny out. He was also gonna get the Injen hardpipe set, but that never came while I was there

The Evo looks like one of Ravi's "friends" car's, Al.
Looks good in the pics, how is it in person? I've seen up close the painted cars because he started the paint thing while I was there and a lot of it was really hit and miss. Some stuff came out looking passable, not great, but passable, and some other stuff was like pure and utter crap. But overall I didnt see a really superb paint job come out of there. But your car looks like it came out good
