Black Magic window tint from Wal Mart

I bought this stuff to put on my work van since it's been so hot here. There are three grades available: select, premium, and something else.

I purchased the 5% premium tint, supposedly with metal particles to help keep out the heat even more, and picked up the "window tint kit" which includes the spray, squeegee, box cutter, and a how-to DVD.

This shit is reflective. It's not a charcoal color. Their "something else" line I mentioned above specifically mentions that it'll be the charcoal color, not this semi-reflective crap. Which is good if you're a laborer carrying tools in the back and don't want eyes peering in. If you've ever seen a thug driving around with that "black ice" window tint, this is kind of like that, except not as bad.

Optically, it's not so great. I'm used to using films from Formula One / LLumar. However, it's fine for a work van. Do not buy this shit to put on your Supra. It's just not dyed as well, and not as clear. However, it does go on pretty easy. I was doing it out in the driveway with a hurricane. Look ma, no bubbles!

    Goes for $11.66 for a 2.5' x 6.5' roll.

It is what it is. I only use that film to do the visor on the windshield!

I used it a while back to do the visor strip on the windshield on my subaru, came out fine. Wasnt very clear, but kept the sun out of my eyes.

I think a 5yr old blind kid did the previous tint job on my Supra. I am just removing it and leaving tint off.

    not true.....

I only use precut kits available on ebay these days, cutting was always the hardest and most time consuming. You can buy great quality tint pre-cut...ie llumar, madico, etc. You can however buy the cheap shit, stay away. I did a friends Corolla and he just wanted the $30 kit....tint was thin and hard to work with but it did work.
